Black Ants and Buddhist: Chapter 6

After reading this article I went ahead and searched up the definition of an activist. The dictionary definition is a person who campaigns to bring about political or social change. I agree with this definition but I don't necessarily feel like it should just be political. To me, an activist is anyone who stands up for what they believe in with that being said it can be beyond politics. Some traits of an activist are confident, open-minded, communication skills, outspoken, leader, brave, etc. Just by listing these traits I have several family members and friends that come to mind that fit into these traits. It's important for children to understand and learn about different activist.

In the article, the students are exposed to voting and their rights as citizens. This article shows how children at a young age can be exposed to things like that. Building students schema at a young age is important. We can do this by giving students experiences while learning that they will remember.
